About Us

Crits For Cats is a small, foster-based cat rescue based in Elkton, Maryland. We started out fostering for another rescue, but quickly recognized the great need in our community for more rescue resources. We are dedicated to the idea that all cats' lives have value and are worthy of dignity and care, including community/unowned cats. We place a strong emphasis on TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and helping people access low-cost spay/neuter resources to help prevent unwanted litters of kittens and reduce the suffering of cats in our community.

We do not have a brick & mortar location; we are purely foster-based and rehabilitate, socialize, and care for our rescued cats in the care of loving volunteers until they are ready to adopt. We have adoptable cats available via our Petfinder listings, and sometimes at the Elkton Petsmart located on Rt. 40 in the Big Elk Mall. Those who wish to adopt a cat are required to fill out a pre-screening application first. Filling out an application is not a guarantee of approval to adopt.

We are a registered 501c(3) charitable organization and all donations made to us are tax-deductible.
